Korean Firm to invest $684M more in Subic.  This makes the total Korean investment close to 2 billion US dollars.

Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction (HHIC) of South Korea will infuse an additional $684 million on top of its original commitment of $1 billion into its shipping project at the Subic free port, the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) said.

Here’s another significant US investment, this one in the gaming trade … the US congress has been very “head in the sand” vis-a-vis online gambling … acting as if it doesn’t exist, or if it could be stamped out.  instead, the Philippines is openly accepting it for the revenue source that it is … and profiting.

Philweb corp., which oversees the operation of an Internet casino business on behalf of the government, announced that it would sell $10 million worth of shares to Farallon Capital Management LLC.
