		<description>Dave; Good to see the picture of the ole girl Alstede. Before the Big One (WWII) she hauled bannas from Central America to the East Coast. Was taken over by the Navy durning the war, supply food to the fleet. In the 70&#039;s she was used to resupply the Big AFS&#039;s Like the USS/USNS Mars AFS-1 and others. That and most Supply ship&#039;s were turned over to the Military Sealift Command. Owned by the Navy and crewed by Merchant Seaman (Which I was for 10 years after I left Pureto Rico). Again thanks for the picture, as it&#039;s different from the one&#039;s I have. Hey I&#039;ve still got her Zippo lighter and one from every ship I&#039;ve been on.
